Continued... Bud Smith '66 Credits Personal and Professional Success with Being a Phi DeltRecently, we asked Brother
Bud Smith '66 a few questions in hopes of hearing what's new with him in life, as well as some of his fondest memories as an undergraduate Phi Delta Theta brother.
Here's what he had to say:
"When I started at UNC my freshmen year, as you enter from the back, the basketball court was where the new room expansion is on the right and our dining/party room was down stairs. The street in front of the house was two way; now it is one way; and, we were one of the few Frats that had a matronly house mother that kept us in line. We also had a house helper, Dr. Reet, “Reeter Skeeter”, who was part of our life and had been there for many years already when I got there. He has since died, but everyone in my time and even for a while afterwards would remember him and echo that he was an integral part of our Phi Delt life...."

In the fall, we initiated 19 new members, and two new affiliates. We are very proud of this new class in Phi Delt. It’s a diverse group that includes a Morehead-Cain scholar, several Robertson Scholars, two varsity athletes (golf and lacrosse), a member on the JV Basketball team and representation from seven different states.
